Set within the leafy outskirts of Naarden, this newly built family home was designed by Studio Vahid from the inside out — creating an atmosphere of warmth, calm, and effortless modern living. Conceived for a young family, the interior design transforms a contemporary architectural shell into a deeply personal home where comfort and elegance coexist naturally. Each space was shaped around light, proportion, and texture, allowing the architecture and interior to speak the same quiet language of harmony and balance. The heart of the house is the open living and dining area, where generous windows frame the garden and fill the rooms with soft daylight. Natural oak flooring runs seamlessly through the ground floor, grounding the space in a warm and tactile rhythm. A sculptural modular sofa defines the living area, surrounded by curved furniture, soft textiles, and subtle contrasts of wood and stone. A minimalist fireplace anchors the space, while layered lighting — from a sculptural pendant to soft ambient floor lamps — creates a sense of intimacy and calm through the day’s changing light. The dining and kitchen areas extend this atmosphere of connection. A long oak dining table sits beneath a cluster of glass pendants, forming a centerpiece for family gatherings and everyday meals alike. The kitchen, crafted entirely from warm oak with brushed brass accents, balances precision with softness. Its functional clarity and rounded corners bring a sense of ease to movement and use — designed not only to look beautiful but to serve as the social heart of the home. Upstairs, the private spaces continue the same quiet material palette. The bedrooms are wrapped in layers of texture — linen, cork, wool, and wood — chosen for their tactile warmth and longevity. In the main bedroom, a mirrored wardrobe visually expands the room, while brass and rattan details introduce subtle rhythm and refinement. Gentle natural light moves across the surfaces, giving the space a tranquil and restorative character. The bathrooms are conceived as small sanctuaries. Soft travertine, matte stone, and brushed brass create a spa-like calm that feels timeless and grounded. Each element, from the proportions of the vanity to the placement of lighting, was carefully composed to enhance the daily rituals of living — simple gestures made beautiful through thoughtful design. Studio Vahid’s approach to this project was holistic — treating the new house not just as architecture to furnish, but as an environment to inhabit. Every decision, from materials to color to furniture placement, was guided by how the family would move, rest, and gather in the space. The result is a home that feels deeply human and enduring — contemporary yet warm, refined yet welcoming — a clear expression of Studio Vahid’s belief that true modern living is defined by balance, emotion, and the quiet power of simplicity.
